Young people do not seem to be as interested in driving as they used to be and this is actually down to many different reasons.
Drink
Alcohol seems to have a big effect on the reasons why people are not actually interested in driving. Drinking is a great thing if you do not do it all of the time and the fact is that it is much better to be walking home than driving when you are drunk? Driving seems like a bit of a pointless thing to do if you are going out to get drunk. Surely it is better to catch a taxi or walk home than try and drive a car wasted? It is the most sensible thing out there to do.
Money
The fact is, many younger people are just not willing to spend large amounts of their money on driving lessons and a car. It isn’t just the lessons that they need to worry about, insurance and tax all add up too and it does get a bit silly so you can see why many people would want to spend their money elsewhere.
Easier To Walk
People should not be moaning about this because many teenagers are now walking and cycling to the places that they want to go, it is a good thing. IPods have really helped when it comes to younger people walking because it isnt boring at all.
The Alternative
There is of course another option and it comes in the form of car leasing. This is often much cheaper than going to a manufacturers and even cheaper than getting a second hand car. You can even get bad credit car leasing and van leasing if you really wanted too.
One of the best ideas to take is to weigh out all of the options that are out there before you make the big decision. If you are leaving it for a few years, what does it really matter.
