Going On a Break, But Not From Exercise

When you think about going on vacation, chances are you will be thinking about a nice relaxing time, free of stress and worries. This often means no dieting, no exercise and looking in the mirror only to check tan lines. That said, more people these days like to keep their fitness levels up and their fat levels down when vacationing, so here is some advice on how to exercise, but still feel like your on a break.

Pool. By far the most simple way to get some exercise on vacation is to get in the pool. Whether youre on luxury cruises or beach breaks, there will always be a pool available to do a few laps in. It wont be like your being forced either as the cool water is often a welcome break to the sun beating down. If you start off easy for the first few days of your holiday and work up to an achievable number of lengths by your last day, you’ll leave fit and satisfied.

Cruises. If a cruise ship is limited in its provision of activities and exercise facilities, active people can often become frustrated and claustrophobic. Ships such as the ones SeaDream operates always have plenty of gym space and swimming pools to use and plenty of other activity choices. However, if you are limited, you should make the most of the time spent on land at the ports. Walking actually burns loads of calories and is great for toning leg muscles, so use your feet to get around as much as possible.

Sand Running
. Running is as much a therapeutic activity as it is a form of fitness training and beach running is like the standard kind but harder. The unstable sand makes it very difficult to run, but ultimately your muscles and CV system will be given a better workout. Its always best to run in the early morning though, especially in hot resorts, as this is the coolest time and the when the beaches are most clear.
