There is nothing so worrying to men or women as noticing lumps of hair on the brush or in the bottom of the bath. Men may claim that baldness is their worst nightmare, but the effects psychologically on women can be much greater.

Alopecia Areata normally appears without any kind of warning signs. Its symptoms show themselves in small patches of missing hair. When i had a beard a number of years ago, I saw a small patch of hair loss which grew larger over the space of a few months. First of all I laughed, then I became irritated and finally I had to shave the beard off for embarrassment. This example, like many with this condition, is temporary and usually results in a full recovery of the affected area. if it doesn’t get better within a few months, it could signify that some permanent damage has happended.
